Peter Boersma – zonder titel [A110], 2024, Paper, tape, epoxy on panel, 12 x 10 cm
Since graduating from Minerva Academy in 2000, Peter Boersma has been working as a visual artist and graphic designer. In his free work, he combines his interest in form and composition with his unique technique of ‘tape transfers’. Using pieces of tape, Peter loosens fibres, shreds and fragments of paper from old documents. This is the material he then uses to build up stories or abstract compositions layer by layer. The mostly abstract works that emerge are wrapped in layers of epoxy, which, besides being an aesthetic addition, also acts as (UV) protection for the fragile paper.
